This full moon can be seen as the completion of the larger cycle that began with the New Moon in Taurus back on 11th May. What was happening around that time? What seeds of intention did you plant? What has come to fruition? What is it time to let go of?
As my progressed Sun has just moved into Taurus, I’m really feeling a strong connection with this Taurus sense of grounding, connecting with the earth and slowing down. Check out my post about finding out your progressed chart here if it intrigues you!
Normally Taurus is about money, possessions, the material world, nature and slowness, but since we have an eclipse in the mix, it will change things up a bit to think more about VALUE to us from an internal point of view, and working towards our destiny. Releasing anything that no longer serves because it’s superficial and not aligned.
Normally, when we have a full moon, there is alignment with the Moon being on the opposite side of the earth to the sun, hence it’s fully illuminated. BUT it’s not exact. When we have a Full Moon that happens on one of the Lunar Nodes, this is the exact point where the Moon will actually be in the earth’s shadow and we’ll see it in a dark-red colour whilst that happens- see diagram below. Known as a Blood Moon. Any pregnant parents due around now- watch out- giving birth on a Blood Moon is POWERFUL!
We’ll see more follow-up aspects across 2022 that re-affirm these themes.
The fact it is a Lunar Eclipse as well means the focus is more on relationships and emotions.
We had a series of Solar eclipses that happened in the South Node earlier this year. This Lunar eclipse is happening in the North Node. The North node is about our future, our destiny – the energy we are here to embody at a soul level. The South Node is our past, what we need to let go of, the energy of the negative patterns you may find yourself in. So earlier this year the focus was more on letting go. But this particular moment is more about defining our future.
The follow-up aspects in the Astrology of 2022 will continue this theme for us. This lunar eclipse marks the beginning of a brand new eclipse cycle. From now until October 2023, there will be seven eclipses across the Taurus-Scorpio axis, collectively referred to as an “eclipse series.” As this is the first in the series, it would be wise to pay attention to events that are happening around this time.
The Taurus-Scorpio axis is associated with themes surrounding stability and intimacy, so consider how these play out in your life. Taurus can tell us to slow down, whilst Scorpio can tell us to transform ourselves. This set of eclipses will stir the need to balance our lives between collecting and sharing, the simple and complicated, tangibles and emotional complexities. Emotions, feelings, and revelations now are pivotal–they get the ball rolling.
