For this blog I have also recorded a brief audio guide to make this more accessible – simply hit play if you’d like to listen to this blog instead of reading it!
WEEKS 1-2
The two weeks after the New Moon, or day 1 of your cycle if you have one) put yourself out there, take action, starting with gentle action at first, then working up to full-on visibility as the Moon comes into its fullest. This is masculine, striving, logical, externally focused action.
WEEKS 3-4
The two weeks after the Full Moon, or starting from day 14-15 of your cycle, it’s about completing things, seeking inner connection, receiving and allowing ideas and intuition to come through. Receive feedback, receive praise, but not to seek external validation, to be connected to what matters to you, and digest the results of your actions in weeks 1-2. Take rest, journal, disconnect from social media.
This is the feminine energy. It’s mystical and emotional, and we need it as much as the logical and action-focused masculine energy.
When we don’t balance masculine and feminine, we end up in a vicious cycle of burn out, overwhelm, stress and lack of purpose. Action without inner guidance is like driving to somewhere new you don’t know the way to without road signs or GPS. You feel like you’re making progress, but you may be going entirely the wrong direction!
New Moon Circles
This is why the lovely Harriet and I run monthly new moon cycles- to take this time for that inner connection and wisdom to surface.
The Moon knows the way, we just have to listen to her! She shines every night to tell us where to draw energy from, to find that mystical balance.
For years I banged on about work life balance, not realising the answer to my question was always right above me in the sky!
Come on over to my freebie page if you’d like to learn more about this cyclical approach.
