The Virgo Full Moon: A Guide

A Time for Clarity, Healing, and Practical Magic

The Virgo Full Moon brings grounding, clarity, and a deep desire for improvement. Virgo, represented by the Maiden, offers a nurturing yet practical energy that encourages you to refine your life, care for your wellbeing, and align with purpose.

The Themes of Virgo

Virgo is the sign of service, health, and detail. It’s about doing the inner work, finding balance between perfectionism and acceptance, and cultivating routines that nourish your mind, body, and soul. This Full Moon invites you to release self-criticism and step into self-compassion.

Where does it fall in your chart?

Which house is Virgo in within your natal chart? For me it falls within my 9th and 10th Houses (using Placidus) so can bring up themes of:

9th house: teaching, travel, higher education, the pursuit of knowledge

10th house: career, recognition, achievement

(For each moon check where it falls exactly in your chart below)

View a quick summary of the house themes here.

To check yours, pull up your chart on https://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi and check where the Virgo sign is (in green like an M with an extra part on it)- check the house number in the middle of the chart. You can click the ‘add transits’ button to get the green transit symbols on the outside of the circle as shown below.

Note also if you have any other placements within Virgo- for me I have my Midheaven in Virgo so the Virgo Moons often bring up themes around my career and public-facing side.

I also offer readings if you want my personal insights on your chart.

Virgo’s Modality: Mutable

Virgo is a mutable sign, which means it’s adaptable and flexible. This energy supports transitions and adjustments, helping you let go of what’s not working and refine what is. It’s an ideal time to embrace small, steady changes that lead to meaningful growth.

Virgo’s Element: Earth

Earth signs, like Virgo, connect us to practicality, stability, and the physical world. This element reminds you to take tangible steps towards your goals, ground yourself through nature, and honour your physical health and environment.

Herbs, Metals, and Crystals Linked to Virgo Energy

Herbs: Lavender (calming), Peppermint (clarity), and Rosemary (focus).

Metals: Mercury, linked to Virgo’s ruling planet and intellectual clarity.

Crystals: Clear Quartz (focus), Green Aventurine (healing), and Amethyst (calming the mind).

Mythological Connections

Virgo is connected to the goddess Demeter, symbolising fertility, harvest, and the cycles of life. Her story reflects themes of nurturing, loss, and rebirth—reminding us that healing and growth come in seasons and require patience and care.

The Completion of a Cycle

This Full Moon represents the culmination of the Virgo cycle that began with the Virgo New Moon six months ago. Reflect on the goals you set then and notice how your efforts have created growth and healing. Where have you found clarity? Where do you still seek refinement?

A Simple Virgo Full Moon Ritual

  1. Cleanse Your Space: Use sage or rosemary to energetically cleanse your home, creating clarity and calm

  2. Write and Release: Journal about the habits or thought patterns you’re ready to release. Burn the paper safely to symbolise letting go

  3. Ground Yourself: Spend time in nature or practice grounding by standing barefoot on the earth. Visualise releasing what no longer serves you and absorbing stability and strength.

Journal Prompts for the Virgo Full Moon

1. What habits or routines in my life support my growth, and which ones no longer serve me?

2. How can I balance striving for improvement with accepting and loving myself as I am?

3. What areas of my life feel cluttered or chaotic, and how can I bring more order to them?

4. How can I honour my physical body as a sacred vessel for my wellbeing?

5. What perfectionist tendencies am I ready to release, and what will that create space for?

6. How can I use my unique gifts and skills to be of service to others and myself?

7. What does healing mean to me, and what practical steps can I take to support my own healing journey?
