The Themes of Pisces
Pisces is the sign of intuition, spirituality, and creativity. It dissolves boundaries between the physical and the divine, encouraging deep emotional release, heightened sensitivity, and a connection to something greater than yourself. This New Moon is a portal for dreaming big and trusting your soul’s path.
For this 2025 Pisces New Moon on 28th Feb at 9° Pisces:
This new Moon is a portal of transformation - this is the only few days we have had for a while where all planets are direct, having finished Mars retrograde last week, and Venus retrograde coming in next week! So this really is a special few days- a portal to set powerful intentions supported by Pisces watery magic. I am a double Pisces (Sun and Moon) so feeling this intensely myself.
North Node Conjunct Neptune- connecting us to our purpose - a portal where anything is possible
This is kind of the beginning of eclipse season - the next full moon is the first eclipse - this is the first point of transformation. Generally during eclipse season the recommendation is not to set intentions so the next New Moon for intention setting is at the end of April - the New Moon in Taurus on 27th April.
Where does it fall in your chart?
Which house is Pisces in within your natal chart? For me it falls within my 3rd House so brings up themes of teaching, travel, higher education, the pursuit of knowledge (yes I’m experiencing that!). View a quick summary of the house themes here.
To check yours, pull up your chart on https://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi and check where the Leo sign is (the red curved ‘n’)- check the house number in the middle of the chart. You can click the ‘add transits’ button to get the green transit symbols on the outside of the circle as shown below.
Note also if you have any other placements within Pisces- for me I have my Moon and Mercury in the 3rd house as well. If you have placements.
Theses are the specific points to check:
9 degree Pisces: in which house is it and do you have placements there (within 5 degree orb). This is where the new moon is transiting and where you can focus your intentions, although we will be looking at a bigger vision.
20-28 degree Pisces: in which house is the last decan of Pisces and do you have placements at these degrees? So much activity there at the moment! Saturn, Mercury + North Node conjunct Neptune.
29 degree Pisces and 0 degree Aries: the first and the last degrees of the zodiac. These points (and anything else in your chart at 29 and 0 degree) will be activated in March. Time to get to know the Pisces and Aries in you, how these energies are expressed.
Also check if you have anything at 23° Taurus where Uranus is transiting - for me it’s exactly on my Chiron, so a chance to liberate from the patterns and wounds associated with that placement!

The last time the north nodes was in Pisces was June 2006 to December 2007- This is a chance to reflect back on those times…
What happened and what did you create in this time connected to Pisces themes? What opportunities came up? On the Virgo side there could have been challenges around perfection, not being able to receive or self-sabotage. You may be revisiting some of the same themes as this cycle comes round again.
